This proposed module is designed for learners with a background in teaching preschool children in a kindergarten, nursery or preschool settings. This module is aligned to the career pathway of an Early Intervention Teacher Aide and provides the learners with the technical skills and competencies to understand and apply different approaches and models of early intervention childhood care and education, as well as the social dynamics of learning in an early intervention context.
At the end of this course, they will be able to:
▪ have a basic knowledge of early intervention principles and practices
▪ able to accurately determine and identify common types of reading disabilities;
▪ able to prepare appropriate materials to suit the needs of the children being taught; and
▪ plan suitable intervention plan using phonics and phonetics to support the child
▪ implement and refine intervention plan
